There’s nothing basic about the 2018 Ford F-150 XL except its entry-level price tag. An all-new 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine is standard, while three other V6 options and a 5.0-liter V8 engine are available also. 4x4 is available on all engine choices. Ideal for a work truck, the F-150 XL comes standard with 17-inch silver steel wheels, cloth seats, easy-to-clean vinyl floor, cruise control, and black textured exterior trim, grille, and handles. Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, and a full complement of airbags are also standard.
Upgrade to the Ford F-150 XLT for a touch more class and a wider assortment of options. Engine and drivetrain choices are the same as the F-150 XL, while 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, grille, and handles, fog lamps, and a power tailgate lock are standard equipment. A power single or twin-panel moonroof are available, and power windows and door locks are on all 2018 F-150 XLT models. You’ll also find SecuriCode keyless entry and Remote Keyless Entry as well as a Perimeter anti-theft alarm.
It gets really-interesting once you see the Lariat trim. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost with an electronic 10-speed transmission. It rides on 18-inch aluminum wheels or you can upgrade to 20-inch rims in a few different styles. SYNC 3 with SYNC Connect, voice-activated navigation, leather-trimmed seats, and an 8-inch productivity screen are standard equipment, as is ambient lighting, power adjustable pedals, and an overhead console. Driver-assistive features are available including Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, a 360-degree camera with split-view display, Lane-keeping System, and more.
The F-150 King Ranch adds power and luxury with a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine and King Ranch-specific details like body-colour trim, quad-beam LED headlamps, and side steps. Leather seats are embossed with the King Ranch logo and the rear seats are heated also. The SYNC 3 system includes a B&O PLAY premium audio system with SYNC Connect and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A 110V power inverter, a heated steering wheel and driver-assistive systems become standard equipment on the F-150 King Ranch.
The Ford F-150 Platinum trim gets even more luxurious. Add 20-inch wheels as standard equipment, along with automatic high beams, black carpet flooring, rain-sensing wipers, and genuine wood interior trim. SuperCrew models receive power-deployable running boards, and Satin Chrome exterior detail adds elegance beyond the norm.
It’s the best that Ford has to offer in the F-150 trim lineup. The 2018 Ford F-150 Limited has a standard-equipment 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, 10-speed transmission, and 22-inch wheels. Satin chrome adds a richness while the twin-panel moonroof is standard on the SuperCrew trim. Driver-assistive features are included in the Limited trim such as adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera with split-view display, and Lane-keeping system.
